Re-jigged involved with Goverment Launch... - 1/23/2012

A dress for her daughter made from an old jumper with holes in the sleeve and a favourite shirt that she simply couldn’t bear to throw out inspired Carol Powell to realise that beauty and fashion can be created from the most unlikely materials. Friends and family admired her creation and the idea for a business was born.

Old clothing embellished with exquisite buttons and ribbons, using contrasting colours and fabrics was reworked, and Re-jigged was launched in the summer of 2009.

The Staunton Stitchers - 10/21/2010

I've had an absolutely wonderful day today!

I was invited to a local sewing group called 'The Staunton Stitchers' where I demonstrated and talked about what we do here at Re-jigged.

The aim was for the group to then have a go at re-jigging something for themselves.

All the ladies brought some old holey jumpers and 're-jigged' them into lovely, stylish, re-designed cardigans and tops. I showed them how to frill the wool edges, how to applique onto the wool and to just be bold and cut off arms, polo necks and slice down the fronts to up-cycle these cast-offs. All cut into their woolies with some trepidation to begin- these were mostly treasured and much loved items, even tho' holey and shrunken!

By the end they had produced some gorgeous new additions to their wardrobes!

Thankyou Staunton Stitchers. What a lovely group you all are and what a fun day I've had.
